* The BWClub SUNDAY RAINY DAY MUD HIKE is to WOHLER BEACH & MEADOW on the beautiful RUSSIAN RIVER; FREE; MEET RJ in the PARKING LOT from 11-1115am; here are DIRECTIONS TO WOHLER (and a MAP LINK follows below that): Take Highway 101 North past Petaluma, Rohnert Park, and Santa Rosa. In north Santa Rosa you'll pass exits to Steele Lane, Bicentennial Avenue, and Old Redwood Highway...drive on to the next exit, just past the huge Luther Burbank Center on the right (east) side of the freeway. Take that exit, which is labeled "River Road / Guerneville / Mark West Rd", and bear left off the freeway, turning left (west) at the light and going over the freeway. Continue on past the winery on the left, PG&E substation on the right, through the stoplight at the intersection of Fulton Road, and on for a few miles (about 7 miles), with small, rolling hills on your left and vineyards on your right, past Laughlin, Slusser, and Laguna/Trenton-Healdsburg, and then turn right (north) on Wohler Rd. (If you pass Covey, the Spears Market sign, Mirabel, and/or canoe rentals and campgrounds, you've gone too far.) Follow Wohler over a creek bridge, to the right, and to the left. You'll see the Radford Inn bed & breakfast on the hillside to the north of the intersection at Eastside Road, which leads to Healdsburg...don't take that...continue straight on Wohler as it winds up the hill, past houses, past the old cyclone-fenced beach parking area to the left, and finally to the green steel gate at the east end of Wohler Bridge. Follow Wohler as it turns left past the gate and over Wohler Bridge and the beautiful Russian River. At the other end of the bridge there is a county pay parking lot. Follow the directions by putting $3 (Or is it $4? Use paper dollars - no coins.) in one of the envelopes, sealing it, and depositing it in the slot. ***MEET RJ, bald, bearded leather daddy from 11-1115am, and we'll walk back over Wohler Bridge, and turn left and hop over the green steel gate... it's a 15 minute walk to the beach. We'll follow the paved trail past the Water Agency corp yard, and the dirt road down to the left of the cyclone fence and into the forest. At the end of the forest there is a fork in the trail... the LEFT turn, marked on the sign as "POND / RIVER", is the WRONG way... do NOT go LEFT. We'll continue straight (veer right) directly into the meadow toward where the sign says "BEACH", and on the trail through the meadow and follow the trail straight into the bushes. That end of the meadow would be spotted with naked men cruising (on warm days)... the trail goes through a short forest and dead ends at Wohler Beach on the Russian River! Later we'll hike across the meadow, through the forest, along the cliff, and up along the Jurassic creek. http://BWClub.net

* NAKED DINNERS IN MANHATTAN: <<NEW YORK (Reuters) - The diners arrived at a nice Manhattan restaurant on a cold February night and stripped off coats, hats, gloves and scarves. They didn't stop there. Skirts, shirts, pants, underwear and stockings all ended up stashed in plastic bags by the bar as the patrons got naked for the monthly "Clothing Optional Dinner." "It's exciting to be in a restaurant nude," said George Keyes, 65, a retired junior high school English teacher. Nude yes, but not unadorned. Keyes, a lifelong nudist, wore a necklace, earrings and a black leather "genital bracelet" with red studs. And white sneakers. The dinner was started by a group of New York nudists who wanted something a bit more elegant than the wilderness getaways and beach resorts they generally frequent. * BRITISH NAVY WELCOMES GAYS (Yeah, like THAT'S news? HA! Thanks, anyway, Bill aka Chad James!): <<LONDON (BBC) -- The Royal Navy has become the first section of the British armed forces to join a scheme protecting gay rights. It has signed equal rights charity Stonewall's Diversity Champions Programme to promote fair treatment of lesbian, gay and bisexual recruits. Gay and lesbian couples with a registered civil partnership will also be able to apply for married quarters, in all armed forces, from the autumn. Gay people were legally permitted in the UK forces only in 2000. The Civil Partnership Act 2004, for which Stonewall campaigned, was passed in November and is expected to take effect later this year. Royal Navy spokesman Anton Hanney said the force's existing no-sex policy would remain in place on ships and at naval bases for homosexual and heterosexual staff. He said: "However, from the autumn, as long as gay or lesbian couples have a registered civil partnership, they will be eligible to apply for accommodation in married quarters. "We will be complying with the law. We are obliged to give equal treatment to gay and lesbian partnerships under these terms... this a cross-service policy across the armed forces." During the first year of the Navy's involvement with the Stonewall programme, seminars, pamphlets and specific advice will be offered to servicemen. Stonewall chief executive Ben Summerskill said he was optimistic the Army and the RAF would follow suit. He said forces staff had become so sophisticated and highly-trained that they could no longer afford to lose them as a result of prejudice. Mr Summerskill said: "I think the Navy have been very courageous to engage with this so publicly." The move was described as a "superbly positive" move by Lieutenant Commander Craig Jones, 36, who has been serving with the Navy for 16 years, 11 of which were "in the closet." Lt Cdr Jones, who lives in Sussex Square, Brighton, with his boyfriend, 30-year-old clinical psychologist Adam Mason, said: "It's really nice to see the Royal Navy demonstrating confidence in being able to be so positive about the issue." He said that by joining the scheme the Navy was not actively targeting gay recruits, but rather, trying not to miss out on their expertise. Vice-Admiral Sir James Burnell-Nugent, Second Sea Lord, said: "I am committed to ensuring the Royal Navy has a culture in which all our people are valued for themselves and are thus able to give 100% to their job." * ALABAMA MAKES SEX TOYS ILLEGAL (Thanks, Bill aka Chad James!): <<WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court rejected on Tuesday a constitutional challenge to an Alabama law that makes it a crime to sell sex toys. The high court refused to hear an appeal by a group of individuals who regularly use sexual devices and by two vendors who argued the case raised important issues about the scope of the constitutional right to sexual privacy. The law prohibited the distribution of "any device designed or marketed as useful primarily for the stimulation of human genital organs." First-time violators can face a fine of up to $10,000 and as much as one year in jail. The law, adopted in 1998, allowed the sale of ordinary vibrators and body massagers that are not designed or marketed primarily as sexual aids. It exempted sales of sexual devices "for a bona fide medical, scientific, educational, legislative, judicial or law enforcement purpose." Georgia and Texas are the only other states that restrict the distribution of sexual devices, according to the court record in the case. Attorneys for the American Civil Liberties Union, representing those who challenged the law, argued that private, consensual sexual conduct among adults is constitutionally protected and beyond the reach of government regulation. They said the Supreme Court's decision in 2003 striking down a Texas sodomy law also created a fundamental, constitutional due process right to sexual privacy. "The evidence shows that this case is not about novelty items, naughty toys or obscene matter. It is a case about human sexuality and extremely intimate acts," the attorneys said. They said Alabama has never explained "why sales of performance enhancing drugs like Viagra, Cialis and Levitra and even ribbed condoms are not similarly prohibited." The attorneys said the state did not contest the evidence that about 20 percent of all American women use a vibrator and at least 10 percent of sexually active adults use vibrators in their regular sex life. A federal judge ruled against the state and found a constitutional "right to use sexual devices like ... vibrators, dildos, anal beads and artificial vaginas." But a U.S. appeals court based in Atlanta upheld the law by a 2-1 vote. The appeals court said it agreed with Alabama that the law exercised time-honored use of state police power to restrict the sale of sex. It rejected the ACLU's argument that the constitutional right to privacy covered the commercial sale of sex toys. Alabama Attorney General Troy King opposed the ACLU's appeal. "This case involves conduct that is both public and commercial -- the sale of sexual devices to the general public in commercial retail shopping centers" and at in-house Tupperware-style parties, he said. King said the law respected "the distinction between public commercial conduct and purely private behavior." He said, "It ... stays out of people's bedrooms." The same-sex marriage debate has been heating up the Canadian parliament, but the hit television show will also take on the controversial issue in Sunday's episode -- a move that has some U.S. Christian Conservatives upset. As the mayor of Springfield says in a clip of the episode: "Springfield: a place where everyone can marry... even dudes." "I think television is becoming obsessed with homosexuality. In fact I wouldn't put it past people to dig up reruns of Happy Days and have the Fonz come out as gay," said Robert Knight of Concerned Women for America. In the show, Springfield will legalize gay marriage to bring in tourists and Homer Simpson will become an ordained minister over the Internet so that he can marry same-sex couples. And like any tourist initiative, there is a catchy song -- this time, to the tune of Harry Belafonte's Banana Boat. The song goes: "Gay-o, it's OK-o/Tie the knot and spend all your dough." "We don't really take any positions for or against anything, we just like to examine all sides of an issue and I think that anyone who would get their political wisdom from a cartoon might be sadly mistaken," "The Simpsons" Executive Producer Al Jean said. But lots of fans watch for that very reason -- they like the tongue-in-cheek political commentary, sometimes subtle, sometimes blatant. And there are religious messages as well, making it harder for right-wing critics to criticize the animated show. Mark Pinsky, author of "The Gospel According to The Simpsons" told ABC News that there are "Too many intelligent, discerning Christians and evangelicals who've adopted the show, who like the show. I think it would be too dangerous quite frankly, and too marginalizing for other leaders of the Christian right to attack the show". Harland Devane, leader of the group Focus on the Flintstones, said at a press conference in Washington, D.C. today that his organization was issuing the demand because, "Quite simply, everything about 'The Flintstones' is way too gay." The conservative activist distributed a memo itemizing over fifty ways in which the self-styled "modern Stone Age family" series promotes homosexuality, but left little doubt that most of his concerns centered on the relationship between the two main characters, Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble. "Their relationship is more flagrantly homosexual than anything in Oliver Stone's 'Alexander,'" Mr. Devane said. He pointed out that Fred and Barney are virtually inseparable, are never seen wearing pants, and live together in the suggestively named town of Bedrock. Noting that the show's theme song exhorts viewers to have "a gay old time," he added that the two men wear hard hats and construction garb while at work, an oblique reference to the construction worker in the classic disco band "The Village People." "Do I believe they are gay icons?" Mr. Devane said. "I abba-dabba-do." He added that Focus on the Flintstones' efforts will not stop at banning the cartoon series from TV, telling reporters that the group is also "taking a close look" at Flintstone-related consumer products such as Flintstone vitamins and cereal. -FRIDAY the weather is changeable, and I haven't decided what I'LL be doing. If it's DRY I'll be heading to SF for GGBBeach, Blow Buddies, critical Mass, and The Friday Night Skate, BUT I think it's gonna be cold, cloudy, and wet all day, in which case I'll either head to The RRR in Guerneville for karaoke, or stay in Petaluma for dancing at the NEW PETALUMA GAY BAR: Jake's!

-SATURDAY you can JOIN RJ and the SF CACOPHONY SOCIETY for a ZOMBIE PROTEST PRANK in SF..."The Dawn of the Dead" is out in theaters this week, and RJ and other Cacophonists are pranking the movie by protesting the screenings AS zombie members of the "League Against Defamation of the Undead" (LADU), carrying signs ("WE'RE DEAD BUT WE VOTE"), chanting ("TEASING THE UNDEAD IS NOT SANE, C'MON, PEOPLE USE YOUR BRAAAAAINS!"), and wearing torn clothes, white face, black eyes, blood mouth drool, and moaning "BRAAAAAAINS!" as people walk by. Afterwards, there's a San Jose PAJAMA SKATE Party, a Pacifica COSTUME SWAP Party, or the SF POWER EXCHANGE!

-SUNDAY is the BWClub NUDE HIKE to GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE BEACH, and then on to the BEER BUSTS at the SF EAGLE TAVERN and The LOADING DOCK, where Sunday evening is PISS NIGHT, and then on to BLOW BUDDIES!

-WEDNESDAY is APRIL FOOLS' DAY, and you can JOIN RJ and the SF CACOPHONY SOCIETY for 26th Annual SF ST STUPID'S DAY PARADE in SF...it's always a kick, and there will be a group of us going down there to join the goofy festivities! Wear and/or be something STUPID and join us!

* There's a NEW SEX CLUB in SF at (and called) 333 LINDEN, which is a tiny, one-way street that runs east from Octavia to Gough and between Hayes & Fell. It's exceptionally clean, but absolutley spares in its decor, with 25' ceilings and NO decorations. There are two floors, the first of which houses on one side a huge 20x50' movie screen showing porn in from of benches and a long glory-hole structure, and on the other side pay-per-cruise internet booths. The second floor is another 25' ceiling with 3 TVs showing porn and about 30 leather beds behind 6' partitions. The crowd was sparse and shy on a recent weeknight, but the place is clean, fairly well-lit, and very well-stocked with condoms, lub, and paper towel dispensers next to virtually every bed. Lockers are available, as are soda and snack vending machines. It's $5-10 for a 6-month membership, and $5-10 admission, unless you snag one of the postcard-like coupons I've seen all around town (found mine at the front door at N'Touch...free entry Monday before midnight...it expired 3/1, but the cute Asian guy at the desk let me in anyway). Welcome to the BWClub Tribe! This is an excellent side benefit of belonging to the BWClub...another great way to make new friends...and that's why I founded the BWClub in the Spring of 1998!

I'm lookin' for EVENT IDEAS! If you've got one, please post it! After five years of planning, promoting, and hosting weekly outings (that's more than 280 events), I'm running out of fresh ideas. That's where YOU come in!
